Magic Body Butter

Body butter is a rich moisturiser made without water. The omission of water simplifies the mixing procedure and there is a less need for adding a strong preservative system. Since all the ingredients are considered self preserving, meaning on their own they have long shelf lives and very stable chemistries, we can opt for adding antioxidants, like Vitamin E ( tocopherol), without too much concern. Butters are our most nutrient-rich category of ingredients, providing a wide variety of healing properties for the skin.
To prepare Organic Body Butter cream:
To set up the double boiler, pour 11/2 inches of water into the bottom pot. Add the Coconut oil, Shea butter and Cocoa Butter directly to the top pot and melt slowly over very low heat. Once all the butters are melted, stir to combine. Add the rose infused olive oil, stir again, and turn off the heat. Carefully lift the top pot of the double boiler (containing the melted butters and oils) off the bottom pot and dry the outside of the pot with a paper towel.
Pour the melted mixture into the glass or metal bowl you use with your stand or handheld mixer, and let the bowl cook for about 10 minutes.
Touch the side of the bowl to test the temperature. When it is no longer too hot to touch but still feels comfortably warm, transfer it to the refrigerator and place a loose piece of parchment paper over it to prevent anything from dripping into it.
Let the bowl sit inside the fridge for about 1 to 2 hours, checking periodically. You will know the mixture is ready to whip when it has solidified and there is no gooey center.
Using the whisk mixer or a whisk attachment, whip the mixture on high for 3 minutes.
Add Vitamin E oil and Almond oil content using a spatula to mix and scrape the mixture down from the sides of the bowl. Whip for another 1 to 2 minutes, until the butter starts to look like airy, fluffy frosting.
Add the Geranium Rose essential Oil and Lavender essential oil 15-20 drops each and mix well using the spatula.
Transfer the magic body butter to the glass jars and cap tightly. Keep out of sunlight and away from heat. To prevent hardening, do not refrigerate. The body butter will last for 3 months.
